Conflicting Accounts Emerge
Owen strongly disputed the workers’ version of events in a statement to Memphis television station WREG. He denied assaulting anyone, particularly the pregnant woman, and characterized his experience differently. Owen claimed he was kidnapped by a woman who manages and resides on the island.
