In response, airlines adhered to laid down protocols, alerting authorities promptly. An airline spokesperson emphasized, “Following the laid down protocols, relevant authorities were immediately alerted, and all security procedures strictly adhered to, as per guidance from the regulatory authorities.” Ensuring passenger safety remained a paramount priority as security measures increased.

Governmental Response: Challenging Communication
The IT Ministry urged the removal of misinformation to combat the spread of these false threats. Mumbai police began investigating by registering a case against an unknown person responsible for online threats. To deter future threats, officials indicated the necessity of swift action against offenders, including legislative solutions. Notably, 14 First Information Reports were filed throughout October, underscoring the need for decisive measures.
On Sunday, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said, “The Centre is mulling steps to ban perpetrators who resort to hoax bomb threats from flying.” These prospective actions reflected the government’s serious consideration of long-term prohibitions for those making false claims.
