In a world where the travel industry is constantly evolving to meet the diverse needs of its customers, one individual has taken it upon herself to push the boundaries even further.
Jaelynn Chaney, a plus-size digital creator from Vancouver, Washington, is making headlines with her audacious demands aimed at reshaping the travel experience for obese individuals.
Chaney, who identifies as a ‘travel influencer’, first caught public attention when she insisted other passengers should bear the cost of her extra airplane seat. Her rationale? The airlines should prioritize the comfort and well-being of all passengers, including those of larger sizes.

Also demands hotels renovate hallways to accommodate her wide load, make stronger toilet seats and beds.

She argued that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) should mandate airlines to implement a clear customer-of-size policy, which would include provisions for larger seats, seat belt extenders, and alternative seating arrangements.
However, instead of advocating for personal responsibility and healthier lifestyle choices, Chaney took a different route. She demanded that plus-size passengers be provided with an extra free seat, or even two or three, depending on their size, to ensure their comfort during flights.
This controversial stance sparked a heated debate about personal responsibility versus corporate accommodation.
But Chaney didn’t stop there. She has now turned her attention to the hospitality industry, demanding larger hotel hallways, bigger elevators, stronger beds, sturdy chairs, custom toilet seats, and handheld shower heads to cater to obese guests.
In a video, she outlined her demands for hotels worldwide, calling for more spacious elevators and hallways to accommodate larger individuals and those using mobility devices.

Chaney also called for hotels to raise their toilet seats and equip each room with handheld showerheads to facilitate ease of use for bigger-bodied people.
Additionally, she requested handrails on pools and sturdy chairs so that people could lounge in peace. She even asked for stronger beds, size-inclusive bathrobes up to a size 6 XL, and plus-size friendly towels for guests.
While Chaney’s demands may spark conversations about inclusivity in the travel industry, they should also serve as a reminder of the importance of personal responsibility in maintaining one’s health.
