A left-wing staff attorney for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been fired after a profane viral rant urging people to defy federal immigration agents and “make their lives f***ing miserable.”

OSBI Attorney’s Anti–Immigration and Customs Enforcement Rant Goes Viral

Shannon Desherow worked as an assistant general counsel for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation when her TikTok rant exploded online. In the video, later reshared by the Libs of TikTok account, she mocked conservatives who say citizens should “just comply” with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, then unleashed a string of curses about following lawful orders. She claimed Immigration and Customs Enforcement has “no authority and no jurisdiction over U.S. citizens” and asked why she should obey an officer “at gunpoint” who she insisted had no power over her.

Desherow then pushed viewers to take an aggressive stance against federal immigration enforcement. She said she was born in the United States and would “make it an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent’s problem,” declaring, “I don’t have to f***ing comply with Immigration and Customs Enforcement because I was born here.” She added that “every citizen needs to have that f***ing mindset” and closed by saying, “We need to make their lives f***ing miserable, and that’s exactly what we should be doing.” Clips of the rant spread fast across social media and right-leaning commentary sites.

State Leaders Push Back To Defend Law Enforcement Cooperation

After the video went viral, Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond stepped in to make clear that Desherow did not represent the state’s values or law enforcement mission. On his official accounts, he wrote, “The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s Shannon Desherow does not speak for Oklahoma,” and said her attacks on the “credibility and mission” of Immigration and Customs Enforcement do not reflect Oklahoma law enforcement. He stressed that the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement are “critical allies” in keeping communities safe from organized crime.

Drummond also drew a bright line for anyone wearing a badge or working inside a law enforcement agency. He warned that “anyone in Oklahoma law enforcement who feels so passionately against our federal partners should resign,” signaling that open hostility to federal agents is not compatible with the job. His office clarified that Desherow was not employed by the Attorney General’s Office, but public records identify her as assistant general counsel for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, where she has represented the bureau on various boards. That link is what turned a personal rant into a statewide law enforcement concern.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Acts After Internal Investigation

Once top officials learned about the video, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation launched an internal investigation into Desherow’s conduct. A bureau spokesperson told Fox News Digital that “once we were made aware of her social media post, we opened an internal investigation.” The same statement confirmed what many outraged citizens were demanding: “Upon completion of the internal investigation, she was terminated.” The bureau said it could not share more details because it is a personnel matter.

Foreign-language coverage that drew from the same official comments reported the same bottom line: the internal investigation “was completed and she was fired.” Desherow’s LinkedIn page, which still listed her as assistant general counsel for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, described her as a lawyer and “leftist in a deep red state,” even while noting that her views were her own. For many Oklahomans, that disclaimer did not erase the fact that an attorney tied to a powerful investigative bureau was publicly cheering resistance to federal immigration enforcement and calling for citizens to make agents’ lives miserable.

This clash is about more than one lawyer with a TikTok account. It shows how activist government employees can use their positions while pushing radical views that weaken respect for immigration law. When a state bureau attorney tells people to refuse to comply with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and boasts about making agents’ lives miserable, it feeds a culture of defiance toward the very people trying to remove dangerous criminals and deport those here illegally.
